Paying by credit card:

Please note:

We accept payment by most major credit or debit cards registered at UK addresses.

Validation Checks (UK only)

All credit and charge card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by your card issuer.

Please note:

If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.

In the interests of preventing fraudulent use of credit, debit and charge cards, we will validate the names, addresses and other information supplied during the order process against commercially available records (e.g Electoral Roll data, Credit Reference Services).

We may instruct a third party to complete these checks. By ordering from our website www.halfords.com you consent to such checks being made.

We may need to contact you by letter, telephone or email to verify details before we are able to process and dispatch your order or we may be unable to accept your order.

Liability

The majority of card issuers cover all the charges that may result from unauthorised use of your credit card or debit cards, but some may limit your liability to £50. If you believe your credit or debit card has been subject to unauthorised use you should contact your card issuer without delay.

Returns/cancellations and after sales policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. However, in the interest of clarity and fairness, if an item is returned the following conditions will apply (in accordance with the consumer contracts regulations):

  • Products without a manufacturing defect must be returned by the original purchaser within 21 days of the date of purchase for a full refund. The item can be opened for inspection but must be unused and in its original unaltered condition including packaging. A copy of the receipt must be included with the return otherwise no refund will be given. If the product has been used or damaged by the customer then we reserve the right to refuse a return or charge a restocking fee of 20%.

  • Products with a manufacturing defect must be returned by the original purchaser within 14 days of the date of purchase for a full refund after inspection by the vendor. The product must be in an â€˜as new’ condition. If the fault occurs within its guarantee period (usually 1 year) we will offer a prompt manufacturer repair service or refer you directly to them. Faults caused by accident, neglect, misuse or wear and tear are not covered.

  • We try our best to be flexible and therefore understand that sometimes customers may be unable to return an item within the time limits shown above. Should this be the case we will consider accepting the return taking into account the conditions above. However in all cases of late returns we reserve the right to charge our standard restocking fee of 20%.

THIS RETURNS POLICY DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. DETAILS OF YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS ARE AVAILABLE FROM TRADING STANDARDS OR CITIZENS ADVICE CONSUMER SERVICE.
